The rims have a unique extruded internal/external radial center rib. This is machined for specific applications; in the rim's highest strength freeride configuration, the rib is left intact. The “twinned” spoke arrangement on these 12 point/24 spoke wheels delivers both high lateral and radial strength. The oversize rear axle tapers from 25mm to 17mm, offering great rigidity and a superior bearing platform. The rear hub uses 4 sealed precision cartridge bearings: 2 High capacity 25 x 37 x 7 main bearings, and two more 2 17 x 28 x 7 free hub bearings.The pawl system uses 6 oversized pawls with alternating 3-pawl engagement, yielding 48 clicks per revolution for instant engagement (7.5 degree maximum free-run before engagement).
